I work for an ISP - iWayAfrica Services Ltd a leading VSAT provider covering the sub-saharan Africa.
I work as a systems administrator, managing over 50 enterprise servers remotely. Duties Include;
iWayAfrica ISP Services Systems Administration.
Plan, configure, manage & maintain all systems for mail, DNS, web services, network monitoring and other network services for the organization.
Securing of the network and systems to prevent  unauthorized access, detection of system breaches and prevention of their recurrence and design, planning, optimization and support of monitoring software.
Monitoring and maintenance of VSAT hub equipment.
Installation and Maintenance of the Communication Networks including VSATS, WLL systems and wired networks.
Communicate between iWayAfrica and the satellite providers Hughes Network Systems Europe HNSE (IS10) and Newskies (NSS7) operations staff on the day-to-day status of ISP systems.
Network Systems Design and upgrades.
Continuously create and update ISP Systems procedures and processes in the department. 
Research and development on new systems technologies and continually improve on current systems.
Installation and configuration of Enterprise servers running on Unix/Linux

Our organization uses iway VSAT link, a single hop to our NOCs in Germany, Washington which then use high speed fiber/T1 links to the Internet.
In our Country we use various links to the International Internet and not one uplink provider for the government as it used to be. We have various links on VSAT and now fibre optic connectivity.
